This workshop, designed for the beginner practitioner, will start with an overview of the practice of mindfulness and meditation, including the research surrounding mindfulness. We will explore practical breathing techniques and various meditation practices including traditional seated meditation, meditation involving movement, and mindful eating. You will learn and practice the importance of self-compassion, and the benefits and challenges of beginning a meditation practice. Also, you will be invited to reflect on your time with us during the workshop. We will provide you with the resources and confidence to cultivate your meditation or mindfulness practice.
