Welcome to Mountain Harmony’s First Continuing Eduction Class.

Restorative Yoga Certification

This weekend certification, located in the heart of the beautiful San Luis Valley will prepare you to teach the most comprehensive, supportive yoga class for your students.

Restorative yoga is needed now more than ever. This practice supports the para sympathetic nervous system: the aspect of our nervous system that allows us to calm the heart rate, soothe the nervous system and decreases the overall stress that 2020 is loading on us.

The perfect practice for all, Restorative yoga allows us to take deep rest, in a supportive environment, while the teacher leads us through a series of restful postures designed to support the relaxation response of the body. We are able to fully relax the body and mind, which supports our health and especially the immune system.

Rebecca Jessen, PT, DPT, LMT, E-RYT-500 has been practicing yoga since 1996 when she took a college credit yoga class and was Alamosa CO Yogahooked. She knew she wanted to teach Yoga, but also knew she wanted to teach from a place of knowledge and understanding. After completing her education for massage therapy, she spent the next 10 years practicing and absorbing all she could of this ancient practice. She studied Hatha, Ashtanga, Bikram, Jivamukti, and Kyira before arriving at the Classical Yoga system at Yoga Life Institute in Malvern, PA in 2006. For one year, she was immersed in the 8-fold Yoga Path as set out by the Yoga Sutures of Patanjali as she completed her 200-hour teacher training studies and Bachelors in Exercise Science. She also completed a 300-Hr YTT at Cambio Yoga in Colorado Springs and is currently pursuing an Ayurvedic Practitioner Certification.
Becca created Mountain Harmony to provide our community with a space of compassion, wisdom, and honesty to support a deep exploration of the Self in Body, Mind, and Spirit.
