In Colorado we’re in the mud season. We’re almost at the end of the mud season, but most people haven’t gotten on the mountain yet. And what does that mean? It means it’s time to condition for the up coming ski and snowboard season, so you have the best season yet!
I created this 20-minute yoga/strength class to help skiers and snowboards to increase their functional strength and safely hit the slope in the next month or two. It’s quick and effective with yoga type moves to condition you for the snow.
What can happen if you don’t condition for an extreme sport?
Well I’ll tell you. Last year my husband landed himself in the hospital for 5 days with 2 knee surgeries because he didn’t pre-condition for the season. This is a guy who has been snowboarding since he was 9 years old, and prides himself in the backcountry. A 5 day hospital stay was not ideal for our family…and that hospital bill…whew!
